A New Addition to the Family

Look what I just happen to come upon. The dealer and I are good friends and we like to both collect tractors. He came upon a bunch of old ones in a fence pile and got them for nothing, he has known that I would like to have an 8N in our little family and saved this one just for me. It is going to be so fun for me and the kids to restore this one in a daily driver fashion. It has all the original stuff 8N's have like the fun pan seat and it even comes with the free rust on the hood!!!I see this project as family therapy just waiting to happen,,,,bonding time with the kids for sure. Nothing more relaxing than sanding slowly on a piece of metal and watching the shine and life come back into it. The kids like the part when it finally runs and we get to drive it. We will have to for certain drive it in a parade somewhere? What about the big Ford tractor reunions in Detroit,,,oh the thought of road trips is too exciting! This is going to be the perfect tractor for the kids to learn how to drive on!
Not much fancy stuff here. The dealer cleaned up the motor, did some brake work, and got the shifter unstuck. The rest is up to the kids and I to tackle! For now though it can rest up until we get some time this summer to maybe get some sanding in on the old girl. Anyone for a little parts catalogue shopping, say in the 48-49 years?

Yes the dealer gave me a great deal, but yes this is my 2010 fathers day, birthday, turkey day, and Christmas present from my family to me. It is amazing just how much my kids and wife know me and really understand what to give me.....thanks kids:) Now I am looking for an original WorkMaster series,,,,don't fret I got my dealer buddy on that one now with a low monthly payment plan waiting:)
